Hotel Korpikartano - new impetus from mentoring and support

High in the north, in the small Sámi village of Inari, lies the charmingly small and efficient Hotel Korpikartano. The natural surroundings offer accommodation for Central Europeans.

The

However, the whole truth cannot be deduced from a calm environment - namely, the hectic everyday life of an accommodation service provider and the challenges posed by running a business.

Anne, an active entrepreneur at Korpikartano, has taken the hotel forward and developed it for a long time. Last year at the Growth Open, Anne met Timo Muttonen of Finnish Business Development. The duo ended up chatting and the decision to cooperate was made quickly.

"Timo Muttonen's statement" I want to save the world "assured!"

The

The duo's world of values met, as the same things came up when asked by the consultant.

The

“I was in love with Korpikartano’s way of being calm, homely and professional in the middle

absolutely marvelous silence. The entrepreneur has strong values and concern for the state of the earth.

He will do his best in his own place for sustainable development. "

At the start of the project, it was time to set goals. At Korpikartano, these were clear, though very diverse. In summary, we can talk about owner mentoring and support - in more detail, for example, the acquisition of a new company partner, the purchase of a company property and the staffing of staff. So the project involved a lot of different stages.

When starting the project, the big plus was Timo's understanding of the industry - he has a strong experience base in management positions in the hotel and restaurant industry. This helped to see Korpikartano's strengths and development targets in the right framework, so we were quickly on the same page with the entrepreneur.

The duo got along well and the cooperation went well. However, nothing is without problems and the busy everyday life of an entrepreneur in the tourism industry brought its own challenges - not to mention the distance, which was quite literally the whole of Finland.

However, the challenges were pushed through with common will. Emails changed recipients, phones sang regularly and were met several times - either in the pulse of Helsinki or in the impressive scenery of Inari.

"External help is sometimes crucial," said Anne, an entrepreneur at Korpikartano, as she thought about the lessons of the project. During the project, almost all the goals were achieved and Korpikartano was able to develop the things they wanted. A new direction has been found and the future looks even more promising.

The

However, business development never stops, and in a changing world, it is important to stay on time. So the duo will return to co-operation and the Korpikartano development project as soon as the worst of the hurry.

" Timo Muttonen is a consultant who knows what he's talking about! "
